My own experience with Sean Hannity

Just about three months ago, I started hate watching Sean Hannity. I was scared to do so  at first, worrying that I’d either get too upset and throw my phone at the TV, or, even worse, that I’d start to believe the stuff he was saying.

However, after viewing his program a few times, I realized that Sean Hannity is a puppy dog. When I learned the key to unlocking Sean Hannity, his show became very humorous to me.

The key: watch Sean Hannity knowing, knowing, that most of what Sean Hannity says is a lie. Knowing the truth, armed with my nightly booster shot from Rachel Maddow, it became apparent rather quickly that Mr. Hannity is a performer.

He may dress like a journalist, talk like a journalist, and even have a show on a network with News in its name, but Sean Hannity is not a journalist. He has said so himself. He is a commentator. There is a difference.

He is not bound by the same rules journalists follow, a professional code of ethics. That means he can say anything he wants. Fox News’ own website has this in Mr. Hannity’s biographical section.

“Sean Hannity currently serves as host of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Hannity (weekdays 9-10PM/ET). He joined the network in 1996 and is based in New York.

As one of the most prominent and influential conservative voices in the country, Hannity’s program offers a mix of news, commentary, guest interviews and branded segments such as #AskSean, where views have the opportunity to send in questions via Twitter or Facebook for him to answer.”

Did you see any reference to Mr. Hannity as a journalist? Real Hannity fans will admit that he is technically not a journalist, he is a commentator. That means technically, the news reported on his show is Mr. Hannity’s opinion. He is beholden to no one as to what he says on his show.

If you are wondering why I am so focused on Sean Hannity, please refer yourself to the current ratings lists among cable news stations. He holds a long record for the top spot in cable news. In February 2018,Hannity was the number one show with 3,333,000 total viewers. For the curious, right now, Tucker Carlson in number two and Rachel Maddow is third.

Millions of Americans tune into Mr. Hannity’s program every night, and, I just found this out recently, they believe him. He holds so much influence over Trump supporter’s beliefs that it is going to come as a complete surprise to much of America when Mr. Mueller finally releases his findings in the Russia.

This blog is for revealing the mistruths and contradictions coming out of Fox News in this hyperpartisan political environment. The way things are working out, Fox's narrative about The Russian Investigation, Roy Moore, Isreal's Capitol, and Donald Trump's accusers of sexual harassment is forcing America to choose. The two camps are mutually exclusive. Either you believe what Fox News is reporting, or you believe the MSM, or mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC). I want to expose the lies of comission, omission and twisting of truth Fox News regularly exhibits in their news reporting. Obviously I am biased. Everything in this blog is my opinion, cited by sources, which will mainly be Fox's reporter's own words.
